Welcome to the Kolapore Loppet!
You've got it in you. On Feb 1, challenge yourself on the Kolapore Wilderness Trails to help celebrate our 51st year.
The Kolapore Loppet is a ski tour on ungroomed backcountry trails with 3 levels:
K51 Gold- A 51 km tour consisting of 2 loops which will cover nearly every meter of the trail network. (There will be alternative options to the most demanding downhills.)
K26 Silver- A tour of the main outer loop of the trail system.
K14 Bronze- A tour of a scenic and varied loop with a little less challenging terrain.
All participants are required to register. There will be no charge for the event but a suggested donation of $20 or more.
You can register here. See who else is coming here!
Membership to the KWTA is not required, but encouraged. You can join here.
Skiers will need a paper Kolapore Ski Map, which we encourage you to buy in advance, either online at https://www.kolaporetrails.org/maps or at the Ravenna General Store, Kimberley General Store or Little Ed’s, and will be available for purchase at the event for $6. You will receive directions for your route. This is a recreational event based on the honour system.
All Skiers will need to sign a waiver. Please read in advance to ensure you are comfortable with it.
Skiers under 16 years old will need to ski with an adult.

Trail Etiquette
1. Please be respectful of all skiers on the trails. Call “Track” (friendly tone a plus) in an appropriate spot to pass and step to the side if you are “tracked.”
2. Skiers going downhill have right of way.
3. Offer assistance to any skier in difficulty.
4. If you are walking a hill for any reason please do so to one side of the track.
This is not a timed event. All finishers will receive a special medallion.
There will be an alternate date of Feb 16 if ski conditions are not favourable or safe.
If you can’t join us on the 1st, you can also ski the route virtually at any time.
We’re looking forward to a fun, challenging event.
