Last year's Kolapore 50th Anniversary Heritage Hikes helped us learn more about this special area. They were also great opportunities for Kolapore Wilderness Trails Association members to meet and socialize while exploring the forest. We want to continue this wonderful new tradition!
Ecologist Neil Morris will join us for a Members' Hike in Kolapore on Sunday, August 18 at 9 am. Neil has worked for several decades as a consulting ecologist around south and central Ontario, including numerous environmental studies in Grey, Bruce and Simcoe Counties. He also volunteered on the Town of Caledon Environmental Advisory Committee for nine years, serving as chair for four years.
Neil will be available as a resource to our small group as we hike. Whether you're curious about birds or plants we see along the trail, or whether you'd like to understand more about environmental impact assessment processes in our region, Neil looks forward to our questions and conversations.
Please register in advance - this will be limited to 25 hikers. Members are welcome to bring guests. There is no charge but participants will be required to sign a waiver. We expect to hike for 2 to 2.5 hours at a moderate pace with frequent stops to check out interesting things we notice along the way. Bring some water - it may be warm. Hope to see you there, rain or shine!
