Kolapore wilderness trails

Another 15 cm overnight, 5 cm this morning (Tuesday Jan 7) Evening update

07 Jan 2025 9:00 AM | Anonymous

Overnight Kolapore received about 15 cm of snow, and another 5 cm fell during the morning.  The (uncompacted) snow at our snow gauge is close to a half metre deep.  The County Forest parking lot was plowed.  At 4 PM the main Kolapore parking lot had not been plowed.  Skiing was very enjoyable this afternoon - a winter wonderland with snow hanging on the trees.   I skied west of the 10th line on Southern Crossing, and encountered a lot of slush and open water, so turned back.  We strongly recommend that you not ski on the south end of Trail to the Summit, the south end of Quiet Pastures or the west end of Southern Crossing (the perennial wet areas.)  Kolapore Trail Guide

Still a few grinders on the main loop especially on Church section below the cliffs. Wild Mouse also has a few exposed rocks still. But overall most excellent powder skiing with 50 shades of white everywhere a snowflake can land. And plenty more snow in the forecast.
