This morning may have been the end of winter skiing at Kolapore for this season.  There is still a substantial base of snow - about 50 cm - so there will still be opportunities for spring skiing.  The challenge will be to find the sweet spot between icy and sloppy.  As someone who doesn't care for spring skiing, I'm already looking forward to next winter, and hoping that it will be as good as this winter has been.  Kolapore Trail Guide

There's probably enough new snow to provide some pleasant skiing.  Get out and enjoy what will probably be the last weekend of winter skiing.  There's enough snow for spring skiing when it warms up this coming week.  Kolapore Trail Guide

The latest dusting of snow has really helped keep the trails skiable except for all the parts where people are ignoring the signs and walking them. Northwest Passage to 6th sideroad is in pretty rough shape - it seems a as though a bus load of people have walked the ski only sections.

There was also and woman and her 3 dogs who walked the entire Paradise Highway through Kolapore Church. She said she was a local and a member and knew she shouldn’t be there but thought ski season was over despite walking over our fresh tracks.

All you hikers, we are not done yet. Please stay off the trails.

Overnight Kolapore received about 3 cm of new snow.  This is on top of a hard packed and rutted base.  Conditions may be marginally acceptable on flatter trails.  I would stay away from serious hills.  Kolapore Trail Guide

Unfortunately, Kolapore only received a light dusting of snow yesterday. This is on top of an icy base.  Skiing is not recommended until we get more new snow or warmer temperatures to soften the base.  Kolapore Trail Guide

It rained at Kolapore overnight, and the temperature has dropped below freezing.  The trails will be icy - I strongly recommend against trying to ski until we get some new snow.  There is still a decent base of snow.  I will post again as soon as conditions change.  That may happen later today, because there is snow in the forecast, and it is snowing lightly as I post at 10 AM.  Kolapore Trail Guide

Happy Days! It's spring skiing time. You can practically hear the sap starting to run. No wax skis if you got 'em. Don't fear the klister if you don't. Plenty of snow in the bush. (The snow gauge is down to a mere 55cm/22") Take your time! Pick an easier route. You can always extend. Go easy on the hills. Time your visit. Late morning when its soft but not too soft. Bring a snack and a beverage. See you on the trails.

On Wednesday the temperature got up to +4 at Kolapore.  With the subsequent cold temperatures, the tracks will be icy.  There is a dusting of new snow.  The trails are likely to be treacherous.  Kolapore Trail Guide

The high yesterday was just above 0, so there was some glazing on the snow.  Today initially there will still be some fresh snow in places but there will also be glazed areas.  As the temperature warms up we will get more mashed potatoes snow.  Unfortunately that means that with the cold temperatures tomorrow, the skiing on Thursday is likely to be icy unless we get new snow.  Kolapore Trail Guide

Kolapore received a few cm of damp snow yesterday, but no rain.  It is snowing lightly at the moment (8 AM).  Conditions may be a bit tricky today - there is good potential for "clumping".
