Overnight Kolapore received about 4 cm of new snow.  This will help to freshen the trails.  Get out while you can - the forecast high of +11 on Sunday may mean the end of good skiing.  Kolapore Trail Guide

I skied at the south end today, including the "Winter Use Only" trails, and conditions were very pleasant.  Tracks were in generally good shape.  Some of the more popular trails may be packed down or scraped.  This is the time of the year when you should seize the opportunity to ski on good days.  Kolapore Trail Guide

I hear that Kolapore received over 12 cm of snow in squalls this morning.  Flurries are continuing.  Skiing should be OK on most trails.  Kolapore Trail Guide

Yesterday Kolapore experienced warm temperatures (+7) and a significant amount of rain.  With the cold temperatures the trails will be crusty or icy.  We've had about 2 cm of snow as I post this at 10:30 AM, but that isn't nearly enough snow to provide safe and enjoyable skiing.  I think that 5 cm might make some flatter trails usable, but hills will need more.  Kolapore Trail Guide

The Kolapore parking lot was plowed today, and there were lots of skiers on the trails.  There is good roadside parking at the east and west entrances to the County Forest.  You might be able get into the Metcalfe Rock parking lot if you have an aggressive truck or SUV.  There is lots of snow, but given that temperatures on Monday will be close to freezing, ski prep to avoid icing will be advisable.  Kolapore Trail Guide

Overnight and this morning Kolapore received 12+ cm.  The 12 cm is on top of the 20+ cm that fell yesterday.  The snow gauge is at 52 cm - the most snow we've had this winter.  Parking will be a challenge - because of a road closure on Grey Road 2 due to blowing snow, the Kolapore parking lot will not be plowed until Sunday.  Kolapore Trail Guide

Kolapore received 20+ cm of snow overnight.  Be prepared to break trail.  The Kolapore parking lot was carefully plowed this morning by a volunteer.  Roadside parking is in good shape at the County Forest.  Kolapore Trail Guide

At 9 AM the temperature is just below freezing.  The trails will start to freeze and turn to ice.  I would recommend staying off them until we get a substantial amount of new snow.  Kolapore Trail Guide

Yesterday the conditions were "firm and fast".  The tracks were well packed, and hills on popular hills were getting scraped.  The new snow  refreshed the trails.  Get out today before the thaw and rain.  Kolapore Trail Guide

Kolapore received about 5 cm of snow overnight.  This helped to refresh the trails after the thaw yesterday.  Most trails I skied were in good shape.  Some of the hills on popular trails may be quite (very?) fast where there has been snowplowing.  Kolapore Trail Guide
