I'm sure that no one would be crazy enough to try to go skiing today.  I'll just note that Kolapore had quite a bit of freezing rain, and the high winds brought a lot of branches down.  There is still enough snow to ski in the bush once the weather calms down, but conditions are likely to be  poor.  Kolapore Trail Guide

The snow glazed over yesterday, so the trails will be icy in the morning and softening by mid-day.  This pattern is likely to repeat itself over the next few days.  If you like spring skiing (I don't), there is still good snow cover on the trails, although the fields will start to open up soon.  Kolapore Trail Guide

I went out at 8 AM to enjoy what will probably be the last day of powder snow and blue wax skiing of the winter.  The tracks in the County Forest were firm and fast, but enjoyable.  I would recommend avoiding challenging hills.  Conditions will soften later today.  After today we are likely to be into classic spring skiing conditions, with the cold temperatures overnight creating an icy surface in the morning, softening as the day goes on.  Kolapore Trail Guide

Kolapore has received at least 5 cm of snow over the past 24 hours.  This should be just enough to make many trails skiable.  Be cautious about what you plan to ski.  Steeper trails where there is any snowplowing will quickly be scraped to ice.  Kolapore Trail Guide

With the rain yesterday followed by cold weather, the trails have turned to ice.  Skiing will be dangerous.  However, it is snowing lightly at the moment, and there is a possibility of a decent amount of snow.  I will update if we get enough new snow to make safe skiing possible.  Kolapore Trail Guide

Yesterday morning provided some of the best skiing of the year.  But all good things must come to an end.  The snow warmed in the afternoon, and froze overnight.  Today the trails will start out icy, and will soften about midday.  I plan to ski at one of the local groomed trails.  Kolapore Trail Guide

Kolapore received about 4 cm of powder snow overnight and into the morning.  We now have the most snow we've had at any point this winter.  Skiing this morning was lovely.  If you want to take advantage of the conditions I would go out today or early Wednesday.  The forecast for Wednesday shows that it will be sunny and warm quickly, so I think the snow may get sticky relatively early in the day.  Kolapore Trail Guide

I skied 3 hours today (10 - 1).  The first hour and half were pleasant on the new snow.  Midway in the ski we started to have problems with icing on our waxable skis.  It wasn't bad on tracks that had been skied in, but was more problematic where we were the first through.  That situation is likely to persist this afternoon.  Tuesday should be better, because the temperatures are predicted to be significantly cooler.  Kolapore Trail Guide

Kolapore has received about 4 cm of snow this afternoon and evening, and it is snowing lightly at 10 PM.  This will help to freshen the trails. I think there should be some good skiing on Monday.  Get out and enjoy the trails before the warmer weather arrives that is predicted for later this week.   Kolapore Trail Guide

I posted last night at 10:30 that there had been 6 cm of new snow - we didn't get any more overnight, although it is snowing at the moment.  There should be enough new snow to make many trails skiable.  Kolapore Trail Guide
