Trail Maintenance and Improvement 2017
Bridge Repair Days are scheduled for Saturday July 29, Sunday July 30, Saturday August 12 and Sunday August 13. On all these days we will meet at 9 AM – the exact meeting places are to be confirmed. So that we can confirm logistics, please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know you are coming. We will also be doing trail upgrading in the County Forest and on Paradise Highway Trail.
In addition to the bigger projects, we always need volunteers to help with repainting trail blazes. If you would like to help with this, send an e-mail to email@example.com.
In addition to trail maintenance volunteers, the Association needs new volunteers to assist with the many organizational tasks involved in operating the trails. Specific volunteer opportunities include:
- Membership Secretary
- Newsletter editor
- Activities/events coordinator (and leaders for activities)
- Chain saw and “Weedeating” crews
- Mountain Bike Coordinator (liaison with mountain bike community)
It costs thousands of dollars each year to maintain the Kolapore trails. In addition to routine maintenance, significant costs include building a major boardwalk (2015), providing a toilet and snowplowing. Donations play a vital role in sustaining the trails. All donations are used for trail management purposes. Although we are a non-profit organization, we are not yet a registered charity, and thus we cannot give tax receipts for donations.
Donations can be made electronically in the field below (using Paypal) or submitted by mail. You can also make cash donations at the secure metal container that has been installed at the north entrance parking lot (beside the toilet).
A form for submitting donations by mail is available here.
