Overnight and during the day we probably had at least 4 cm of snow.  Skiing was very good today.  I would strongly recommend skiing on Friday morning if possible - conditions should still be very good.  Skiing conditions will deteriorate on the weekend with the warm temperatures that are predicted.

Kolapore had some freezing drizzle yesterday, which glazed the tracks.  Overnight we received 2 cm of new snow.  I did a very short test ski this morning in the County Forest, and it was slightly better than I anticipated.  It isn't the day for your first visit to Kolapore, but Kolapore vets can probably find some passable skiing.  I would recommend staying off the steeper hills.

Over the past day or so the Kolapore trails have received about 5 cm of snow.  This has freshened up the trails.  The snow gauge is at about 43 cm/17", so the coverage is good (although there are still a few open wet areas.)  Skiing should be excellent.

Skiing the past two days has been great, particularly if you got out early enough to avoid any "clumping" when the snow warmed.  Tracks are generally in excellent shape (at least in the southern and central parts of the trail system - I hear reports of snowshoeing on parts of Northwest Passage and walking near Metcalfe Rock.)  The snow gauge is at 40 cm/16", so in most areas rock skis are not required.

Kolapore received about 5 cm of new snow overnight.  The snow is quite damp, so waxing might be tricky.  This is the type of day where you should prep nonwax skis so they don't clump.  That said, skiing should be good.  It was a great weekend.  Kolapore Trails Association members had a fabulous moonlight ski on Saturday night.

Kolapore received about 15 cm of powder over the past 24 hours.  Skiing should be great on Saturday.  You should be prepared to break trail in some less-used locations.  The Kolapore parking lot was plowed today.

Kolapore received about 4 cm of snow on Wednesday and Thursday morning.  The snow gauge is up to 33 cm.  The skiing today was enjoyable but fast.  Caution was required on some of the more challenging hills.  With the snow we are receiving this evening, and predicted for overnight, skiing could be very good on Friday.

The trails were very pleasant today.  The temperatures were just above freezing, with lots of sun, so the trails were reasonably soft.  I suspect that when the temperatures drop, the tracks will be very fast until we get fresh snow, which is predicted for Thursday.

There's new snow in the tracks.  Unfortunately, when I was out this morning the snow was very clumpy.  It is likely to be worst in fresh snow or lightly skied tracks.  Be sure to prep your skis, especially non-wax skis, with glider or silicone before heading out (and even that isn't guaranteed to work.)

I did a short sunset ski around the County Forest, and the trails are getting fast.  More heavily used trails (e.g., the Kolapore Church - Paradise Highway loop) could be REALLY fast.  The freezing drizzle that fell on Tuesday is likely contributing to the speed, but the tracks aren't glazed - hard wax worked well.  Skiing should be enjoyable if you choose the right trail.  There are still some wet spots, and some rocks showing (the Kolapore snow gauge is at 26cm/10").
